Starcoach is owned and operated by Henry and Sandy Smith. The company opened in October of 1997 starting out with one coach. Starcoach grew rapidly to a point where it seemed wise for Henry and Sandy to expand their scope of business. They began to concentrate on the charter market, gradually establishing a quality reputation with a national and international clientele. In 1998 the Smith's decided that in an increasingly competitive market, one key to success was to develop a trademark. Building on their reputation for good service and clean equipment they began to build a fleet of ultra modern style motor coaches. The appeal of attractive styling and passenger amenities accurately reflected their commitment to provide quality transportation for their clientele. It worked. The fleet has grown from one coach in 1997, to four coaches in the past five years. The rapid growth has been a result of identifying the market they wanted to pursue. The coach industry is one of those unique fields where no matter how many opportunities are created by careful planning and good fortune; they can only be fulfilled by hard work. Over the past five years the nature of the business has evolved from local service into a full service company specializing in charters and multi-day tours. During the summer, Starcoach does a great deal of contracted long distance tours, even some going from coast to coast. A combination of late model equipment, first rate maintenance, and quality drivers, (most with several years of over the road experience), enables them to range throughout the United States and Canada. Although long distance charters are an important aspect of our business, Starcoach has equipment here at home during the summer months to take care of its local clientele, which includes church groups, casino groups, senior citizen organizations, and local tour operators. Again, quality service, careful planning, and hard work keep the company’s equipment busy all year long and provide a solid foundation for the company’s growth into the 21st century.
